Blow-by-blow... will it go?

OK - I shall now try to get into 2nd Life. And I'll imagine I've no previous experience.

Great! As I imagined... not that I'm a doom-sayer at all... but...

well.. I Googled "Second Life" and went to the page:

http://secondlife.com/

and then clicked on the big button saying "Get started".

But then, what should happen?

I get my company's lovely blank screen saying:

Surf Control!

Access denied

Access to the requested URL has been denied by SurfControl.

So... back to square one. Requesting, internally, that I be allowed the Surf Control to be lifted.  

And... seriously... how is this going to work if we ban everyone from using Second Life? How can we then suggest using it within the company? Will the company trust everyone to be good? Do we have to make special exceptions for certain users?

More when I get an answer.
